These simple stone statues come from the Indonesian island of Sumba and are hand-carved from sandstone by local artisans. In the traditional villages of Sumba, statues like these are placed in and around the hut entrance, offering protection and healing to the residents inside.
They make a beautiful statement on their own or are beautiful in a group to really make an impression.
